I haven’t watched Dallas Buyers Club yet but, this is the best thing Matthew McConaughey has EVER done.<\/p>\n
He co-stars with Woody Harrelson in the first offering in this new anthology series from HBO.\u00a0 Woody is a better than average state police detective in Louisiana.\u00a0 McConaughey is super cop.\u00a0 But he’s really weird so he works better with normal person (and serial fornicator) Harrelson helping him relate to the world.<\/p>\n
They are newly partnered in 1995 (we don’t know it yet but McConaughey spent 4 years before this undercover in Texas and Mexico being a badass and he’s almost massively overqualified to be a homicide detective) when they catch a case where a woman was murdered then posed strangely with an antler crown and seemingly satanic sculptures surrounding her and odd painting on her body.<\/p>\n
The case becomes a bit of a media sensation and political pressure is brought to bear to come up with a suspect.<\/p>\n
This timeline is portrayed with interviews with McConaughey and Harrelson (who gets more ass in this show than a park bench) taking place separately in 2012.\u00a0 Both of them have left the state police and two current detectives are questioning them about the 1995 case.<\/p>\n
That’s all the plot I’m going to get into, I don’t want to spoil the best thing on TV since The Wire.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n I’m 6 episodes in (of 8) and I’m spellbound.\u00a0 And fuck Sherlock Holmes, Rustin Cohle (McConaughey) would eat his lunch.<\/p>\n I’ll update when I finish the series, but DAMN.<\/p>\n *Update*<\/p>\n The climax of the show is one of the best I’ve ever seen.\u00a0 After the massive build up it is in no way a letdown.\u00a0 It’ll blow your mind.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I haven’t watched Dallas Buyers Club yet but, this is the best thing Matthew McConaughey has EVER done.
